In Going Home in the Dark by Dean Kuntz Four kids in a small town are very good friends. Three of them leave, but one stays. He is now in a coma. His three friends come back to see him; however, they must deal with their childhood nightmares they grew up with. I think this book was pretty good with action and an interesting storyline. "The Tenant" by Freida McFadden

In The Tenant by Freida McFadden, Blake gets fired from his job.  He needs money because he is getting married soon.  His house is beg enough so he takes in a tenant.  WOW OH WOW!  This book is fantastic!!!  I never knew what was going to happen next.  I hated to see this one end.  This author has an amazingly dark imagination and keeps coming with with fantastic thrillers.  (Gerard's review, 5++ stars)

"Party of Liars" by Kelsey Cox

Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox is about a girl's sweet 16th birthday party that she and the people who were there will never forget.  This book was pretty good and was told by four different characters.  It could have used more action, but for a first-time author, not too bad.  (Gerard's review, 4 stars)

"Don't Open Your Eyes" by Liv Constantine

In Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine, Annabelle has dreams about her family, but that is only one of the many storylines in this amazing book!  The great storylines keep this book moving along quickly and the characters are true-to-life.  The ending made my head spin!  I hated to see this one end.  (Gerard's review, 5++ stars)

In King of Ashes by S. A. "Not Quite Dead Yet" by Holly Jackson

"Her Secret Song" Brides of Hope Mountain Book 3 by Mary Connealy

Her Secret Song by Mary Connealy (Brides of Hope Mountain Book 3) is about Ursula getting brave to finally go down the mountain, but finds Wax injured and saves his life, then falls in love with him.  This was a fast read because I enjoyed it!  There was Ursula’s personal journey of overcoming her fears but also good action the last part of the book.  I enjoyed this series very much.  (4 stars)

In Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts, Sloan is a police officer.  When people keep getting abducted, she takes it upon herself to find out why.  This was good stuff!  It has a good storyline. "With a Vengeance" by Riley Sager

In With a Vengeance by Riley Sager, Ana wants revenge on the people who killed her family members.  How is she going to do it and will it work?  You will have to read the book to find out!  This book is FANTASTIC!  I did not know what was going to happen next all through it.  This is one of my all-time top ten books for this year at least.  I highly recommend you read this one!  (Gerard's review, 5++ stars)

"A Dark Secret" by Casey Watson

In A Dark Secret by Casey Watson, Casey is a foster mom who works with special needs kids.  No one seems to be able to handle Sam, a 9-yr-old boy who has only known abuse and heartache.  Casey is this boy's last hope.  I thought this book was pretty good and has a good storyline that kept my interest.  (Gerard's review, 4 stars)

"Silver Elite" by Dani Francis

In Silver Elite by Dani Francis, Wren has a special power that she must hide at all costs.  She finds herself training to join the silver guard, but wants to kill these people.  I thought this first book in the series was pretty good and plan to read the next one.  I liked the action and storyline.  (Gerard's review, 5 stars)

"Whistle" by Linwood Barclay

In Whistle by Linwood Barclay, Annie has had a rough year.  Her publisher finds her and her son a house in an out-of-the-way place, a small town in upstate New York.  Now Annie can get back to doing what she does best--writing books!  I have read a few books by this author, but this one is by far his best!  It is filled with twists and turns with plenty of action which is why I enjoyed it so much.  I always looked forward to reading it and had to force myself to put it down so it would last longer.  Stephen King said this one was "Terrific" which made me want to read it.  He was right!  (Gerard's review, 5++ stars)

"The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon

The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon is based on the true story of the life of Martha Ballard who was a midwife that helped women deliver their babies.  Martha is called when a man accused of rape is found dead in a river.  Someone says otherwise and Martha must decide if she got it right so investigates the murder on her own.  This book is pretty good but could use more action.  (Gerard's review, 4 stars)
