"Six of Crows" by Leigh Bardugo

In Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, Kaz Brekker is offered a chance to make money that even for him would be beyond his wildest dreams. To claim the money, he must free a man from a prison that is impossible to escape from. He needs to find a crew of people to help him. The problem is they do not really trust each other. Will the promise of money keep them together? Will they pull it off?

I enjoyed this book a lot! There is lots of action and you did not know what was coming next.

"Twice Blessed--Two Amish Christmas Stories by Barbara Cameron

Twice Blessed—Two Amish Christmas Stories by Barbara Cameron is actually two novellas about two pair of 23-yr-old Amish twins: (1) Rosie and Katie and (2) Ben and Mark. Rosie and Katie are used to doing everything together but have very different personalities. Both want to find a good man to marry. This story line was a happy little romance that was predictable.

The men are both in love with the same woman, Ruth. Mark and Ruth are engaged, but Ben is jealous. Ruth secretly loves Ben more. When Mark and Ben get in an accident, Mark is in a coma for over a week while Ben just lets Ruth, the nurses and the doctor think he’s actually Mark. This story had a bit of a unique spin to it so I enjoyed it more.  It even has some recipes in the back of the book of foods mentioned in the stories.

"The Life We Bury" by Allen Eskens

The Life We Bury by Allen Eskins centers on Joe Talbert, a college student, who has an English class assignment.  This leads him to a man called Carl Iverson, in a nursing home, whose past is just the thing Joe is looking for.  I thought this book was pretty good.  Joe was a very good character and the other characters were well brought out too.  The only bad part of this book is I thought it was too predictable.

"438 Days" by Jonathan Franklin--Really Good True Story!

438 Days by Jonathan Franklin is a true story which makes it all the much better!   A pair of fishermen left the coast of Mexico for a weekend trip.  Soon they were lost adrift in the Pacific.  What a fantastic read this is!  Salvador Alvarenga is a person you will not soon forget.  The first few pages tell you about the kind of man he is, but when the story turns to the boat ride, it is really good!  Give it a shot, you will be glad you did!

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J. K. Rowling is a Great Ending to a Fantastic Series!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J, K. Rowling is the last book of the series and is phenomenal! It is very exciting, suspenseful, emotional, touching and is full of unexpected twists and turns. It’s hard to review it without giving away major things, so I’m just going to say that if you started this series, you really need to finish it! In this book, Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione are out of Hogwarts and on the mission that Dumbledore gave to Harry. The plot is complex and full of adventure. Loved the Epilogue! Great ending to a fantastic series!  WOW!

This series is a must read with lots of twists and turns! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was sorry to see it end, even though there were seven books in the series! I fell in love with the main characters and the action scenes were so well written that I felt I was right there.  This one even made me cry, parts were so sad. J.K. Rowling is the best story teller I ever read and certainly entertained me with this amusing and interesting series.   Harry is such a cool character who shows that love is the strongest power and that we can learn much about leadership from Harry Potter.  This series is amazing!

No wonder these books were such a hit and well-loved worldwide. I had to give every book in this series 5 stars but here is the way I would rank them:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner from Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
