"The Burning Room" by Michael Connelly is Slow and Boring

The Burning Room by Michael Connelly has Harry Bosch with a new partner, a young girl named Soto.  They are on a case of a 10-yr.-old murder that they are trying to solve.  The main problem I have with this book is that it just moves slow and the action is very limited.  Michael Connelly books are usually pretty good, but this is not one of them.

"The Grumpy Guide to Life--Observations by Grumpy Cat"

The Grumpy Guide to Life--Observations by Grumpy Cat is a small book with pictures of Grumpy cat on every page and bits of advice that are depressing, negative and none of which one should actually follow.  Although this, of course, is meant to be humorous, I just found it distasteful and felt sorry that this poor cat is portrayed this way just because of its looks.  Most of the advice is just twisting well-known sayings around.  Certainly, if you want to know how to become grumpy, this would be a very helpful and practical book for you.

"Picture Me Gone" by Meg Rosoff

Picture Me Gone by Meg Rosoff is about a father and daughter who live in England.  One day the father and daughter come to America to find a friend of his who has left his wife and baby and cannot be found.  The daughter tries to help and slowly puts the pieces together, but just when she thinks she has it solved, a twist comes and she is shocked.  

This book was all right but moved too slow for my taste.  However, it kept my interest but the ending was okay, not great.

"A Gift to Remember" by Melissa Hill

A Gift to Remember by Melissa Hill is told by Darcy, a young lady you will love.  One day while riding her bike, she literally ran over a man.  She is okay but the man does not know who he is.  Darcy looks after his dog, which I loved too, while trying to help the man regain his memory. 

I loved this book because while the ending is sort of predictable, the journey to the end is not and it is told very well.
