Tuesday Teasers: One Fiction and One Non-Fiction

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should  Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought  I  would play for fun! Just do the following
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page (well, we cheat and choose specific ones)
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on  that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away!   You don’t  want  to  ruin the  book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can  add the book to their TBR  Lists  if they  like your teaser.
Gerard's:

As she stared down in shock at the man he groaned.
Sam felt a cold shiver of fear run down her spine.
From pg. 16 of Shiver by Karen Robards. (Gerard's review will be posted tomorrow.)

Karen's
I bet your human is one of those people who disappears every day for hours and looks really tired and annoyed when she comes home. This place that occupies so much of a human's time is called a 'job,' and I think it's one of the things that destroys the play instinct.
From pg. 11, Location 172 on Kindle of Dear Sparkle: Advice From One Cat to Another by Sparkle.

Happy Reading!

  1. Hi Gerard, Karen,

Great little teasers, I was very confused about yout teaser Karen until I read the title of the book - sounds like one to look out for.

    Thanks for visiting my TT.

    Love Rie x

    1. It's a fun read but not just frivolous. It does have advice for human cat owners but is presented in a very clever way. I liked it!

  2. Love the cat teaser, but I don't think my cat pays that much attention to when I'm here or gone. I'm not that important to him as long as there's food and a bed. Here's Mine

    1. Mine always greet me at the door when I come home. I'd like to think they're happy to see me, but it's probably because they want their dinner. It's a very cute book, a quick fun read.

  3. What? Cats actually care how you feel?

    1. I don't know if they care, but they are very sensitive and do pick up on your feelings.

  4. That first teaser sounds like a scary moment is happening or about to....
And the latter made me smile. How true!

  5. Love the suspense of the first one. I'm pretty sure my cats don't care too much about where I go, as long as I feed them and pet them they're good.I love that your teasers are always so varied.
Thanks for dropping by my teaser.

    1. I know I play with my cats more on days I don't have to work than on those I do.
