"Posy" by Linda Newbery is a Cute Picture Book about a Kitten

Spunky Doodle reading POSY
Posy by Linda Newbery, illustrated by Catherine Rayner, is a cute picture book.  Little rhyming phrases describe a normal day in the life of Posy, the kitten.  Many of the descriptions apply to our cats so they loved this book!  Our cat, Spunky Doodle, was being the hissy spitter in our blog header for this week which was one of the descriptive phrases used in this book.  I liked it because of the clever rhyming phrases that describe cats in general as well as because many applied to our cats.

"Revealed" by Tamera Alexander

Revealed by Tamera Alexander is an historical Christian fiction romance that I thoroughly enjoyed reading from beginning to end.  This is the sequel to Rekindled which I also enjoyed and is the second book in the Fountain Creek Chronicles series.  Although the ending was predictable, I loved the journey with humor, action and interesting characters.  This is about Annabelle, a former prostitute who marries the man who bought her from the brothel.  Right off the bat, she finds herself a widow with a very antagonistic brother-in-law, Matthew.  The novel beautifully shows how people can change and become new creatures in Christ.  Both Annabelle and Matthew have pasts they would rather forget.  Once I started, it was hard to put this one down!  I highly recommend it.

Tuesday Teasers: Four This Week

Gerard's:

He stared at Yarvi, eyes wide, and opned his mouth but made no sound.  One needed no gift of empathy to see he was weighed down by heavy news.
From page 6 of Half a King by Joe Abercrombie.

My gut says that she didn't go back to the old neighborhood, which means that she's out there, all alone.  She's not streetwise.
From page 11 of Don't Try To Find Me by Holly Brown.

Karen's:

Annabelle stared at the folded letter in her hand.  A quiver wove its way through her.

From page 53, of Revealed by Tamera Alexander.

Posy!  She's a . . .whiskers wiper, crayon swiper.  Playful wrangler, knitting tangler.
From pages 1-6 of Posy by Newery & Catherine Rayner.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should  Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought  I  would play for fun! Just pick two sentences from the book you are reading.

"Half A King" by Joe Abercrombie is a Real Page Turner

Half a King by Joe Abercrombie is about a young man named Yarvi. When he finds out that his brother and father are dead, he is next in line to become the king—something that he does not want. As events unfold, he finds himself a slave on a ship. Does he stay a slave? Does he take his rightful place as king? And what and who killed his brother and father? This is a real page turner of a great fantasy novel with plenty of action which had me glued to the book. I think there is going to be a book two and if so, I’ll be on it! LOVED IT!

"The Infinite Sea" by Rick Yancey is Action Packed!

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey is the second in the 5th Wave series and as good as the first!  Planet Earth is being attacked and overtaken by aliens!  A band of young teens are trying to (1) stay alive and (2) put a stop to it if they can.  This book picks up where the first one left off with plenty of action.  I finished it in just two days!  I cannot wait to see how it all plays out!
