Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo tells the story of a young girl who befriends a dog that she names Winn-Dixie, after the store where she found him. Because of the dog, she gets to become friends with other people in the neighborhood. It's a very short children's book but I enjoyed it! The story is well told.(Gerard's Review: My rating: 3 of 5 stars)

I have the book on the shelf for my granddaughter but have not read it but the movie I have seen several times. It is delightful. If you haven't seen it yet you should go right out and get it.
ReplyDeleteKaren tells me we did see the movie on a DVD we borrowed from the library but I don't remember it. Karen said it was good and we liked it.
