"This Time Tomorrow" by Emma Straub
In This Time Tomorrow, Alice's dad is very sick with tubes in him as she is on the verge of turning 40. She remembers the fun times she had with her dad. On her birthday, she wakes up back in time when she was 16 and her dad was healthy. This book could have been so much better if it was about Alice and her dad instead of time travel! "The First to Die at the End" by Adam Silvera
In The First to Die at the End by Adam Silvera, two young men meet in Times Square on New Year's Eve. It is the beginning of a new year and the start of death cast. Death cast calls people on the day they are supposed to die. Can they really do that? One of the young men gets a call. It could be a very short friendship. This book is the prequel to They Both Die At the End. I enjoyed this book just as much as the other one. I liked that this book has more characters. (Gerard's review, 5 stars)

"Back to School, Weird Kids Rule!" by Dan Gutman (Weird School Special)
Back to School, Weird Kids Rule! by Dan Gutman is a bit different from other books I read in this series because instead of AJ being the narrator, it's Andrea! Andrea explains why she loves school so much and focuses on the week before school starts. She and AJ are thrown together by their parents (the mothers are best friends), and spend their time arguing. It includes some history of school supplies and some puzzles in the back. I liked this one all right. The interaction between Andrea and AJ was funny. (Karen's review, 3 stars)
"What Comes After" by Joanne Tompkins

This book is really good. I enjoyed all the characters and the good story line. (Gerard's review, 5 stars)

It's Halloween, I'm Turning Green! by Dan Gutman is part of My Weird School series. It's a special because it includes games and puzzles in the back. "For the Wolf" by Hannah Whitten (a fantasy debut)
In For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten, Red has one purpose in life: give herself up to the woods and hope the gods will return. "The Woman in the Library" by Sulari Gentill
In The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill, there is a scream in the library. Four people sit at a table and talk about it. Three of the four do not realize the murder is sitting at their table with them! I thought this book was very good. I enjoyed the characters and the unusual story line. Although the book started slow, it made up for it as it went along and I didn't figure out who the murderer was until the last page. (Gerard's review, 5 stars)

My Weird School FAST FACTS Series by Dan Gutman
Explorers, Presidents, and Toilets by Dan Gutman is a FAST FACTS series book that I found extremely interesting and filled with fun facts about U.S. history. Dogs, Cats, and Dung
Beetles by Dan Gutman is a FAST FACTS series book I found to be informative
and funny! It is filled with interesting
fun facts about all sorts of animals as well as some jokes throughout the
book. I especially enjoyed the chapter
on presidents’ pets. Arlo and Amanda
both alternate sharing facts in a fun way.
I highly recommend this book to any animal lover. (Karen’s review, 5 stars)
Sports by Dan Gutman if a FAST FACTS series book I found to be interesting and funny. Arlo and Amanda both alternate sharing facts as in the other books in this series. Most sports are covered, but I noticed pickleball was not included. I especially liked the baseball and basketball facts, but enjoyed the whole book. I liked that at the end it encourages kids to search the internet for their own weird facts about a subject that interest them. (Karen's review, 5 stars)
Dinosaurs, Dodos, and Woolly Mammoths by Dan Gutman is a FAST FACTS series book that I skipped because I just am not interesting in reading about dinosaurs and other extinct animals. I included it here because it is part of this series.

"Mr. Granite If from Another Planet!" by Dan Gutman
Mr. Granite Is from Another Planet! by Dan Gutman is the first book in the My Weird School Daze series that I didn't enjoy at all. It was about going green but things in it made no sense at all and it wasn't as funny as the others either. It was just stupid. The only good thing about this one is that it's a quick read! I would recommend skipping this one! (Karen's review, 1 star)

"Mr. Klutz Is Nuts!" My Weird School 2 series by Dan Gutman
Mr. Klutz Is Nuts! is the second book in My Weird School series by Dan Gutman. In this book is all about the principal doing funny things to motivate the students. The reader learns about incentives. I liked that the students became concerned about their principal and were willing to learn without his incentives. I enjoyed this one but it didn't make me laugh out loud like some of the others in this series did. (Karen's review, 3 stars)

"Little Eyes" by Smanta Schweblin is a Strange One!
1.
In Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin people buy a Kentuki to keep them company. It’s like a robot pet, but not all of them follow the wishes of their owners. I thought this was pretty good. It went to different people so I never knew what was going to happen next. (Gerard's review, 4 stars)
My Weird School I Can Read! Series (Level 2—Reading With Help) by Dan Gutman
All the books in this series have large colorful pictures that little kids would enjoy with very little reading. They are very short but are great for young readers.
AJ and Andrea get to go on a field trip to the museum. Although AJ is the one who usually gets into
trouble, on this trip Andrea is the one who causes trouble. It’s a cute story.
The class votes on what pet to get for their class and snake
wins. This is pretty funny and also
gives some interesting information about hognose snakes.
The class is having a talent show and AJ doesn’t know what
to do. His talents really aren’t things
he can do in a classroom. He signs up
last hoping to think of something. It’s
his teacher who recognizes his talent.
Ryan is forming a curling team. AJ says he wants to be on it, but Ryan
already has enough. When one of his
players gets hurt, AJ comes in to replace him, but can AJ and Andrea play
together without fighting?

Found a Funny Children's Book Author!
I happened to choose a kid's book from our free library and discovered a new author for me--Dan Gutman. I Enjoyed MISS DAISY IS CRAZY so much that I ordered all the Dan Gutman books I could get from the library (39)! They are quick reads and funny! They are aimed at 6 to10-year-olds but I think any elementary child would enjoy them. If you want a laugh, go read one of his books! They make me laugh out loud!
"Coach Hyatt Is a Riot!" by Dan Gutman
Coach Hyatt Is a Riot! by Dan Gutman is about AJ's Pee Wee football team. The new coach is a woman and does some goofy things. Her son is on the team but just stands around picking his nose all the time. Some girls make up some cheers, which are super corny, and the coach even adds a the girl AJ hates to the team! I think girls would enjoy this one more than boys, even though it is about football. I liked it all right, but didn't think it was as funny as others I have read by this author in the "My Weird School" series. (Karen's review, 3 stars)

In Lock Every Door by Riley Sager, Jules has a job as an apartment sitter at one of the most high profile buildings in Manhattan. "The Secret Life of the Sea Otter" by Laurence Pringle
The Secret Life of the Sea Otter by Laurence Pringle is a children's book containing lots of full page pictures and facts about sea otters. I did learn some things about sea otters that I didn't already know; however, it read like a school report rather than like a story. I expected it to be more of a story with the facts coming through more in story form. (Karen's review, 3 stars)
