In Elevator Pitch by Linwood Barclay, something is very wrong with the elevators in New York. There have been three elevator accidents in three days. People are being killed! What is going on? Is someone doing this and why? This book was pretty good. The action was good, but could have been more. There were long stretches of just talking. The story line and characters were okay. It wasn't great, but good enough to get 4 stars from me. (Gerard's review)

Steelstriker by Marie Lu is Great!
Steelstriker by Marie Lu is the sequel to Skyhunter (which I have not read). This story is told by Talin and Red who are trying to free their land that is ruled by the Premier Talen better obey the Premier because her mother's life depends on it.
I liked both Red and Talin, but it is Talin that really drives this book. Marie Lu's books are always good and this is no exception. (Gerard's review, 5++ stars)

We Both Liked "Hostage" by Clare Mackintosh
Hostage by Clare Mackintosh is a thriller about an airline stewardess. Too make it even more suspenseful, her 5-yr.-old daughter and her husband are going through a trauma of their own at home. The hijacker threatened to harm her daughter if she did not let him into the cabin to fly the plane. This was full of suspense and had a crazy ending I did not see coming. (Karen's review, 5 stars)
Gerard's review:
In Hostage by Clare Mackintosh, Mina is an airline stewardess going on a non-stop flight, the first between London and Sydney. It comes at a good time as she needs time away. Her life is in a tailspin. She is trained to handle a lot of things that could go wrong, but now she has to decide between the safety of her 5-yr.-old daughter or the people on the plane. This book is told by many people which helps build the suspense. In enjoyed it throughout! (5+ stars)Monday, August 9, 2021
"All The Time In The World" by Caroline Angell
In All the Time in the World by Caroline Angell, Charlotte takes a nanny job to get her head back on straight. She is actually good at it and really takes to the two small boys she is looking after. When the mother dies in a tragic accident, Charlotte knows that she is needed now more than ever, but can she give up her musical dreams to look after the two boys and their dad?
This book goes back and forth in time at an alarming rate! I liked Charlotte and the two boys very much which kept me reading even though it went on a bit too long. The ending was good though so worth reading. (Gerard's review, 4 stars)

"Mountain Made" by Max Brand
In Mountain Made by Max Brand, Winsor Glanvil has a plan to marry Louise Carney. When Jack Rutledge finds out, he makes sure that is not going to happen. He also plans to make sure Winsor never marries anyone! What does Jack do and can Winsor ever find love again?
This book started out really good and the last part was pretty good, but the middle part fell flat to me. Winsor was a good character and I enjoyed King Silver, the wolf, very much! You will have to read the book to find out about King Silver! (Gerard's review, 4 stars)
