"The Only One Left" by Riley Sager is Amazing!

The Only One Left by Riley Sager, is the best book I've read this year by far!  It starts out a bit slow, but boy, does it pick up!  It's about Kit, a caregiver, who is hired to take care of a paralyzed person who was suspected of murder and lives in a big spooky house at the top of cliff.  Kit is hired soon after the previous caregiver mysteriously left.  This book has it all--mystery, suspense, action, devious characters, creepy fathers and lots of surprise twists with a great ending!  This was crazy good!  Loved it and highly recommend it.  (Karen's review, 5 stars)

Gerard's review 10/2023:
In The Only One Left by Riley Sager, Kit becomes a caregiver for Lenora Hope.  It is believed Lenora killed her parents, but no proof was found.  Kit is afraid after a few days but needs the money so stays on the job.  She is soon to be a lot more frightened!  This book is amazing!  It has lots of twists and turns with an easy storyline to follow.  The characters are great too.  If you think you know how it all plays out, trust me, you do not!  Must read this one!  (5++ stars)

Bored to Pieces with "Agatha of Little Neon" by Claire Luchette

Agatha of Little Neon by Claire Luchette was a terrible book! It dragged along going nowhere. Had one funny part when the sisters' car broke down but that was it. It was all just about one nun's personal journey that led her to leave the sisterhood. I thought this was one of the worst, most boring books I ever read. I only finished because I thought something would happen and it would get better, but it never did.  The only good thing about it is that the chapters are very short so you can read just a little at a time because a good stopping point is never far away. (Karen's review, 1 star)

"Hemlock Island" by Kelley Armstrong

In Hemlock Island by Kelley Armstrong, Laney gets an island as part of a divorce settlement which she rents out to make money.  She gets a call that something strange is going on at the island and she better come down to look.  Soon she discovers that she has a big problem!  This book started off okay, but went sideways near the end.  I never cared about the characters at all and I thought the ending was very strange.  (Gerard's review, 3.5 stars)

"Blood Sworn" by Scott Reintgen (Book 2)

Blood Sworn
by Scott Reintgen is the follow-up book to Ashlords.  The race is over and now the war has begun.  The three main characters are back:  Pippa, Adrian and Imelda must now work together for the better good of the country.  Can they and will they save their country?  This book was better than the first with fast action and lots of twists and turns.  (Gerard's review, 5+ stars)

"Ashlords" by Scott Reintgen (Book 1 in series)

Ashlords
by Scott Reintgen is teen fantasy about horse racing.  It is time for the race with 11 horses and 11 riders.  Three riders (Imelda, Pippa and Adrian) have a lot at stake.  You will have to read the book to find out what that is.  This book gets off to a slow start, but once the race begins, it more than makes up for it!  It is easy to follow.  I really enjoyed the three main characters and liked it because it has lots of action.  Now it is on to Book 2.  (Gerard's review, 4.5 stars)
