Gerard's:
At the end of the last street, past a forgotten cornfield and the ruin of a barn, sat the house that I was supposed to call "home."My father wanted me to remember the house.

Karen's:
However many crimes I'd committed already that morning, I'd done it all for a very good reason, and it must be said that they faded into insignificance next to the thought that I was abducting my brother. From page 1 of She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick. (My review will be up tomorrow)
Down the hallway, I went into a large closet, otherwise known as a Manhattan home office, and shredded the script I'd written to fool my daughter. I sifted the confetti through my fingers and let out a breath as I heard Emma start to sob.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought I would play for fun! Just do the following
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page (well, we cheat and choose specific ones)
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.
Happy Reading!
I loved the Anderson book.
ReplyDeleteI'm playing today with a giveaway at Beth Fish Reads.

You're right! I just started reading his books because a lady at the nursing home we visit recommended him to me. So far both the ones I read by him I really liked. NOW YOU SEE HER is hard to put down. I hope finish it tonight or for sure tomorrow. I'm anxious to see how it ends.
DeleteThe last two got my attention. Will check them out. Here's mine

That's what I thought too until I found out her reasons. Then I really couldn't blame her. Really good! The woman is actually nice and has a good relationship with her daughter.

ReplyDeleteMy Teaser is from PATTY JANE'S HOUSE OF CURL.

Here is my Intro post!
The teaser from Now You See her is a good one... so why was it necessary to fool the daughter I wonder?
ReplyDeleteHer father is a psychopath and doesn't know she exists. The daughter, of course, is curious about her father so lies abound.
DeleteThose are some really good teasers! Mine: One Hundred Years of Solitude
ReplyDeleteNice assortment of teasers. The first two book are on my wishlist. My teasers this week are from Caged Warrior by Alan Sitomer and Midnight Crossroad by Charlaine Harris. Happy reading!
