Tuesday Teasers: "Look Again" and "A Stolen Life"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should  Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought  I  would play for fun! Just do the following
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on  that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away!   You don’t  want  to  ruin the  book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can  add the book to their TBR  Lists  if they  like your teaser.
Look AgainKaren's:
Ellen couldn't stop looking at the white card, which read HAVE YOU SEEN THIS CHILD? The resemblance between the boy in the photo and her son was uncanny.
Taken from page 1 of Look Again by Lisa Scottoline.

A Stolen Life: A MemoirI do not want comfort from this awful man, but there is no one else here and I reluctantly lean into what comfort he gives.  Up until now I have not cried one time.  Only on the inside.  Now I feel like a rabbit being comforted by a lion.  I am so scared.

Taken from Page 19 of A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard (non-fiction).

Have you read this one? What did you think of it? You can help our charity of the month just by leaving a comment on any of our blogs! We will donate 50 cents per comment at the end of the month. The charity for this month is at the top of our blog.

  1. Wow, what a great hook the first teaser is. Thanks for stopping by my teaser.

  2. Two good teasers. No I haven't read Jaycee Dugard's book. I did see her interview on one of the newsy shows a few weeks ago, what a sad situation that was.

  3. great teasers!
    Thnx for stoppin by earlier
    have a great day!

  4. Wow, very powerful Teasers especially the second one. It's a "real" life experience.

  5. Both books sounds pretty intense. Thanks for sharing. If you get a chance, my teaser is here.

  6. Both were really good. I couldn't choose a fave.

  7. Good teasers. I haven't read anything by Lisa Scottoline but I've heard that her books are excellent.

  8. I haven't read either. They both look great.

  9. Oh, wow! A teaser from the Jaycee Dugard book? I'm too scared to read that one, but it's a great teaser.

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!

  10. Okay, I have to choose both books this week. Both are powerful and moving in their own way. But 'Look Again' would be the first one I'd read.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  11. The first teaser is really interesting. Makes you want to read more about it. Nice!

  12. This is a great book for a rainy day or just to sit and read for pleasure. I was moved by what the main character must be feeling as she goes through this experience. Never imagined the ending! It had me in tears. I thought this was an interesting approach to a topic I would not have imagined as a topic for a novel.
