Tuesday Teasers: "Love You More" and "Dogs Don't Lie"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should  Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought  I  would play for fun! Just do the following
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on  that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away!   You don’t  want  to  ruin the  book for others!)
  • Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can  add the book to their TBR  Lists  if they  like your teaser.
"I feared for my life," I whisper. "I felt my sidearm. He charged...I feared for my life."
"Trooper Leoni, what happened?"
"I shot my husband."
"Trooper Leoni--"
I meet his gaze one last time. "Then I went looking for my daughter."
From page 35 of Love You More by Lisa Gardner.

"Did you think I was asleep all those nights when you were watching Law and Order?"
I burst out laughing. The idea of my cat learning to investigate crime from a TV show, it was all too much.

  2. I've never read Lisa Gardner though I keep eying her books whenever I see them. lol at the second teaser a cat detective really? What fun.

  3. I heard good things about Lisa Gardner, hopefully I'll get to read something by her soon.

Dogs Don't Lie sounds really fun. Going to take a closer look at that book too.

  5. Those both sound like great reads! Whenever I visit this blog, I get the most cozy scene pictured in my head of the two of you sitting side by side reading good books. Ahhh....

    Here's mine:

  6. Both of these are in my TBR and sound wonderful. My teaser is here

  7. Hi Karen,

Love those teaser lines, anything by Lisa Gardner is always a great read.

I have several of her books in my TBR pile and this one is surely destined to be added soon.

  8. Both books sound interesting although Karen's is more my speed.

My group's teasers are here: Quirky Girls Read

  9. Oh, oh, the crime fighting cat. That's from a whole series, right? I gotta check that out.

  10. I love the Dogs Don't Lie teaser! Great picks!

  11. Great teasers! I'll definitely be adding both of them to my tbr list. I may have to read the Dogs Don't Lie first. I wonder if Ellie (our dog) is learning from the tv?!

  12. I read Love You More for review/blog tour and it was really good:) Nice teasers!

  13. Gerard's teaser seems like a fun read! Both teasers are good and Karen's sounds intriguing. Why did she shoot her husband, I wonder?

    Mine is on My Bookshelf.

  14. Jules: Thanks for following. I think you would like "Love You More."

Jessica & Safari Poet: This is the first book I've read by Lisa Gardner. I'll probably read another. I let Gerard read Dogs Don't Lie first but I'm going to read it too. He's going to read "Love You More" also.

Sassy Brit: It's a fun read.

BookBelle: We do read next to each other sometimes. Usually on the porch, when we ride the bus, sometimes in the living room and sometimes at the park. We even took books to the zoo with us once and sat and read along the way!

Yvonne: Thanks for letting us know you are adding this to your TBR. I'm sure you will like it! I'm going to read some more of Lisa Gardner's.

Margot: Glad you liked our teasers. "Love You More" is pretty intense. We like variety so got the "Dogs Don't Lie" one for a fun quick read.

Alice Audrey: Clea Simon has written other books too with cats in them. This is the first one we have read by her though. I know there's some other cat mystery writer but can't think f the name now. Be sure to stop by to see the review tomorrow. check out her cat website: www.consciouscat.net

Chelsey: Thanks for stopping by, glad you like our teasers.

SusanB-knits: Glad we could be of assistance in adding to your TBR list!

BookJunkieMom: Thanks for stopping by. I thought it was good too! I plan to read more of Lisa Gardner's books.

Shirley: "Dogs Don't Lie" is a fun read. Sorry, you'll have to read the book--I don't want to spoil the suspense for you.

  15. I like the Dogs Don't Lie teaser :)

  16. Both of those books look like fun. I haven't read any of Lisa Gardner's work. I guess she should go on the list.

  17. The first one is definitely intriguing. I wonder why she shot her husband. :(
