After You by Jojo Moyes is the sequel to Me Before You and picks up six months after Will killed himself. Louisa is having a hard time dealing with that, but she has carved out a life for herself. When someone from Will's past shows up, her life goes just a little bit crazy.
After You is not as good as Me Before You. That being said, I thought this book was pretty good. Louisa is great and the new characters are pretty good as well. The story line is just okay though, not great. Still, if you liked the first book, you should read this one too!

"In the Dark Places" by Peter Robinson
In the Dark Places by Peter Robinson is a British mystery novel that I really didn’t much care for. It is about a crime ring in a rural area involved in the stealing of farm equipment for resale. The whole book is the ongoing crime investigation trying to get to the bottom of it which mushrooms into something much bigger and gruesome. It was a bit confusing trying to keep all the law enforcement people straight, a map would have been helpful to show the lay of the land and the language used many British terms I wasn’t familiar with. There is good suspense near the end but for the most part I found myself plowing through just to finish it. I did appreciate the wrap-up summaries given when the law enforcement people got together to compare notes and update each other. That helped me know what was going on.

"A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness is a YA story about a 13-yr.-old boy, Conor, whose dealing with anger issues and fear of his mother dying of Cancer. His parents are divorced, and his dad remarried and now lives in America while Conor lives in England.
I didn’t really care much for this book because the Monster that appeared to Conor to help him accept the loss of his mother seemed real; however, that made no sense. I thought it was a dumb book but read it because I heard so many recommend it on YouTube. It is sad and has a realistic fantasy feel to it. I really thought the cover was well done.

"Want You Dead" by Peter James is Fantastic!
Want You Dead by Peter James centers on two people who met online--Red, a young woman and Bryce, a young man. They had a relationship going until Red broke it off and Bryce wants Red back in the worst way. This is a fantastic read--action packed to be sure and a real page turner! Give this book a chance. You will be glad you did. I LOVED it!

"The Dog Who Could Fly" by Damien Lewis is one of the Best Books I Read This Year!
The Dog Who Could Fly by Damien Lewis is the true story of airman Robert Bozdech and the bond he forged with a dog named Ant during World War II. I loved this book! It is an incredible story of how Ant even went on flying missions with his master. You do not have to be a dog lover to appreciate this book though. Please read this book--it's a story you need to hear! It doesn't get any better than this! This is my book of the month so far and will be in my top 10 for the year!

"The Wicked Girls" by Alex Marwood
The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood tells the story of two young girls who
meet by chance. An incident happens that they keep to themselves but
years later, events happen in this small town that brings up that
incident from the past. A real page turner that I got engrossed in and
kept me turning the pages.

"A Street Cat Named Bob and How He Saved My Life" by James Bowen
A Street Cat Named Bob and How He Saved My Life by James Bowen is a true story the bond that developed between him and a street cat he named Bob that helps them both. The second part of the book focuses more on James than it does on the cat. This book is nowhere near as good as Dewey, the Library Cat
which is one of the best books I ever read! In my opinion, this is
still a book well worth reading because the parts that have Bob, the
cat, in it are really good! Glad it has a happy ending! (4 stars)

"The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman was Disappointing
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (New York Times Bestselling Author), is about a man who comes back to his boyhood home and remembers the summer when he was seven when a girl befriended him. It's a pretty good read with some good parts but also some parts that didn't interest me much.

Great Thriller: "Poppet" by Mo Hayder
With Poppet by Mo Hayder, you get two stories in one! One story is about a missing girl who is presumed dead. The body was never found. The Detective working on the case knows what happened, but his friendship stops him from revealing it. When he tells the friend, she will stop at nothing to keep the body hidden. The second is that something is happening at a nursing home that is terrorizing the residents.
Both outcomes to these two stories will shock you--it did me! I loved the dog in the second story! This is a great quick read well worth your time!
